LETOURNEAU'S UNIQUE LEG DESIGN
More Steel. More Peace-of-Mind.
With over one-million pounds more steel in our legs than the competition, LeTourneau Technologies™ Offshore Products designs and manufactures the sturdiest, most robust and reliable jack-up rigs in the industry. And here’s proof: LeTourneau has built more than 175 rigs, with many still in operation after more than 30 years. Our proven leg design directly contributes to the fact that our rigs have over 20 million hours of trouble-free performance behind them. More steel, better leg design, more
peace-of-mind.

Predictable. Even When the Environment Isn’t.
Irregular surfaces. Hard lens surfaces in soft soil. Pot holes. All specific conditions on the ocean floor that can equate to challenges for many rigs during jack-up.
These challenges can result in buckling or fracturing of the bracing due to shearing of the rig legs, and chord rack teeth sliding out of engagement with the elevating unit pinion gear teeth. LeTourneau meets, and beats these challenges by guiding each chord individually, so that lateral movement is limited, and sliding is resisted.
Engineered to withstand even the most severe conditions and deep-drilling applications, the LeTourneau leg design is so tough, no other rig manufacturer can match our sound construction or record of long-term integrity. Our unique triangular open-truss design and heavier leg construction means supreme confidence in even the harshest ocean environments. Because our rigs are fully lifecycle tested prior to delivery, you can be sure that with LeTourneau, you’re receiving the industry standard in elevating systems.
In fact, our patented jack-and-drill system allows you to level a rig in as little as 15 minutes. We offer four choices of elevating capacity ratings, including 150, 375, 440, and 1000 kips with storm holding capabilities as great as 1800 kips per pinion.
And, our proprietary STORM LOK® system enhances platform stability and load distribution under extreme conditions. Easy to engage and disengage as required, STORM LOK utilizes jam-proof wedges and independent, self-aligning chocks. |
