LTI BullShaft™

LTI’s 1150 hp and 1500 hp TorqForce AC motors feature an innovative plus: the patented BullShaft™ design. The BullShaft features a larger, more heavy-duty construction than conventional shafts providing it with the strength to withstand the torsional forces that lead to shaft failure.
Unlike competitive models, which employ non-standard shafts and components to accommodate these torsional forces, the BullShaft design uses only standard components and hub patterns. As a result, BullShaft-equipped LTI motors are easily serviced and require no modification for standard AC motor installations. |

TorqForce™ AC Motors |
LTI™ Power Systems TorqForce AC motors are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of the most demanding traction application. Available in 400, 550, 1150, and 1500 hp models, these traction motors are designed specifically for 480-690 volt operation. To meet varying installation requirements, LTI TorqForce AC motors are also available in vertical or horizontal designs.
These motors combine the latest in motor design and materials technology with the highest quality manufacturing and testing procedures to deliver superior performance and reliability. Every motor is rigorously tested: water-immersion wire tests prior to winding to ensure insulation integrity; surge-comparison winding tests before vacuum pressure impregnation and dip coating; pre-assembly water immersion stator tests followed by post-assembly insulation testing; and testing of assembled motors.
