Operator Training
Level I Syllabus
LeTourneau Level I Authorized Operator Training is an introduction and familiarization to the machine. It allows operators to safely move the machine in a non-production atmosphere. Using the Operators Handbook as a reference, we will cover:
- Machine Specifications
- Machine Safety and Emergency Shut down procedures
- Machine Start up and Shut down procedures
- Fire Suppression
- LINCS Navigation
- Alarm / Warning Reaction
- Machine Capabilities and Limits
- Avoiding Hazards and Tire Damage
- Communication
- Machine Pre-shift Inspection
- Machine Controls and Functions
- Introduction to digging theories
- Questions and Answers
Level I Operator Training will accommodate 8 trainees in 2 ten hour days.
Day one will be classroom and day two will be on the machine. This allows operators to get familiar with the machines controls in a safe operating location.
Site specific items can also be included into the course if prior arrangements have been made. |
Operator Training
Level II Syllabus
LeTourneau Level II Authorized Operator Training is directed at the machine in production mode. Practical applications and general digging theories will be applied to give operators the skills needed to safely and productively operate the machine in various working conditions. Specific items to be covered will include:
- Proper truck placement
- Applying different digging theories when needed
- Digging effectively with out tire spin
- Understanding Machines Controls
- Understanding Machines limits and capabilities
- Tram procedures
- LINCS Navigation
- Control and maintaining work area
- Importance of load placement
- Understands production cycles
- Emergency Procedures
- Working with support equipment
- Communication
- Ensuring safe and productive attitude
Level II Operator training should be limited to one or two operators per shift.
We recommend splitting the shifts (5 hours for day shift, 5 hours for night shift) but the time frames will be determined by the mines needs. |
Operator Training
Level III Consulting – Training
LeTourneau Level III Consulting and Training is an advanced course designed to get the most production as safely and efficiently possible with LeTourneau machines. Tools such as benchmarking and machine downloads will be implemented in designing a specific program catered to a customers needs. Some items our trainers will be looking for include;
- Operators skill level
- Truck availability
- Haul truck flow
- Digging conditions
- Proper use of support conditions
- Weather
- Haul distances
Level III operator training consists of two-week audit (80 hours). This audit will include;
- Benchmarking the loader
- Studying machine downloads
- Observing haulage flow
- Observing dig face conditions
A full report will then be written with recommendations on ways to improve the loaders production. The results of the audit report will determine the time frame for corrective action.
